GEOPHYSICS MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

Surrounding yourself with well-chosen mentors can dramatically change your life. A mentor is someone with vast experience or unique talents, who is willing to share ideas with you on a regular basis. You, as the recipient of this great information, have a responsibility to use it wisely by furthering your career and financial status or by enhancing your personal or family life. It’s like a teacher-student relationship, except that you have the benefit of one-on-one tutoring. And the big bonus is that you normally don’t pay for lessons. What a deal!

Darryn has been working in the oil and gas industry for about a year and a half now and wants to add some value to the industry that he believes is not being offered at this time, by setting up mentoring relationships for anyone in 3rd or 4th year of Geophysics. Many of the professionals he has spoken with in the oil and gas industry are interested in becoming a mentor. His challenge now is to meet students who would like to learn first hand from someone already in the industry!

How It Would Work:

After a brief introductory meeting with Darryn, you will be matched up with a professional Geophysicist who has similar interests as you, if possible. Your mentor will be available to meet with you for a 15-minute conversation once a month to answer any questions you may have. We ask that you respect the time of the mentor and make sure to have some good questions to ask. If they do not get a chance to respond to all of them, please respect their time and save your questions for the next conversation, which you are responsible for setting up with the mentor.
